  6. Known Problems
  7. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  8. On certain systems the keyboard does not function properly. 
  9. If you are using one of these systems, instead of typing 
  10.     KOS 
  11. type 
  12.     KOS key 
  13. or
  14.     KOS key ask
  15.  
  16. at the dos prompt, or operate the program with the mouse. 
  17.

  19. If you never see video, but can see the menus when you hit Escape, 
  20. your sound card is not configured properly. 
  21.  
  22. Check your documentation, autoexec.bat or win.ini
  23. files for the proper IRQ, DMA, and PORT and enter these manually after 
  24. typing KOS ask.

  27. Certain Sound Cards, such as the Diamond SonicLX card, and the MediaMagic
  28. soundcard can be configured using a utility that comes with the card 
  29. to be a SoundBlaster or a Windows Sound System card.

  31. The utility is variously named ISPINIT.EXE or SONIC.EXE.
  32.  
  33. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
  34. The program cannot autodetect these cards when they are configured in
  35. SoundBlaster mode. Furthermore, if configured as Sound Blaster, you can only
  36. run the program once between reboots. The second run will fail.

  38. Please configure these sound cards in Microsoft Mode using
  39. the utility, type KOS ask, and specify that you are using a Microsoft
  40. Sound card,

  43.  
  44. Note the IRQ, Port, and other information for the SoundBlaster configuration.
  45. (IRQ 11 is not supported. If you chose IRQ 11 please change it).
  46. Type KOS ask, and specify an old sound blaster. Enter the port and IRQ, and 
  47. note that the program will only run once.

  50. If you have any other problems, a long shot: try removing the memory managment 
  51. from your config.sys and try again. 
  52. If you use DOS 6.0, you can set up alternate boot configurations.
